About Nativa Fronteira
A family business built on one simple idea: the land does best with the plants that belong to it.
From one tired pasture to a regional native seed company
In 2009, Scott Walker took over a family property on State Highway 239, a few miles outside Kenedy. Decades of continuous grazing had left the soil bare and the fields choked with brush. Instead of planting another stand of non-native grass, Scott began collecting seed from native remnants along fence lines and creek banks.
Neighbors noticed the difference within a few seasons — thicker grass, better forage in dry summers, and quail coming back. Requests for seed and advice followed, and Nativa Fronteira Native Seed & Land Co. was born.
Today our team operates a nursery, seed cleaning and storage facility, and a restoration crew with our own no-till drills and equipment. We still answer the phone ourselves and still walk every property before we quote.
